Contractors

Harrogate International Centre are undertaking the phased redevelopment of their exhbitions halls and now wish to appoint a contractor. The overall project is made up of 5 phases (total value approx £40,000,000 over a 4 year programme) and is made up as follows:
  • Phase 1 - Construct new Exhibition Hall 3, new lorry park and car park
  • Phase 2 - Construct new Exhbition Hall 2 over existing Halls B and C adjacent to Queen's Suite, including a temporary link between Halls A and C
  • Phase 3 - Demolish Halls A and F and form new vehicular service route and piazza
  • Phase 4 - Demolish Exhibition Halls B and C and construct new Exhibition Hall 1 which is to be developed in 2 stages
  • The overall phasing of the project maybe reviewed in the future
The successful contractor will be required to work with the design team to complete the Phase 1 design (M&E and Structural Engineers to be novated) from RIBA Stage F and construct Phase 1, which has an approximate value of £10,000,000 to £15,000,000 and a 21 month programme from appointment using a design and build contract (likely to be the NEC 3 form and contact). The progression of Phases 2-5 is subject to Council agreement and HIC reserve the right to review and amend the procurement strategy for the future phases.
